The hub has different pockets with different energy. Shared areas like the kitchen can be lively (especially around lunch or coffee breaks) and that’s where a lot of catching up happens. When people are at their desks or have headphones on, focus time is generally respected.
People often choose to come into the office because they enjoy the social and collaborative moments, then settle into deep work when it’s time. Most meetings happen in rooms, which helps keep shared spaces calm.
